16 Mezquita-Cathedral, Córdoba

This is one of the most magical buildings I have ever seen from the inside: the Mezquita-Cathedral in Córdoba, Spain. I visited it with my best friend on our roadtrip through Andalusia in 2018 and we were simply stunned by the endless rows of arches expanding into an endless hall. And the best and most amazing thing: This now Roman-Catholic cathedral has once been the Great Mosque of Córdoba.

Córdoba once was the capital of the Muslim-controlled region of Al-Andalus. Today you can find architectural influences of both religions in the building. Wow!
