To me this is one of the coolest landmarks in Europe. The Atomium in Brussels, Belgium, was originally built for the 1958 Brussels World's Fair. The steel spheres are connected by tubes which
enclose stairs, escalators and an elevator. It is absolutely terrific to go up and down in it and see the spheres from within. Six of the spheres are open to the public and house various and
changing exhibitions. When we were there in 2019 there was a spectacular light show. It is said that the structure of the Atomium represents an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times.
