6 Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo

It had been my first time in Asia, my first time in Japan and my first visit to a temple: the Senso-ji Temple in Tokyo. It is Tokyo's oldest temple and was completed in the year 645. During World War II, the temple was bombed and destroyed because humans are assholes and will never learn that the only things wars bring are death of innocents and destruction of heritage. The temple was rebuilt later and is now a symbol of rebirth and peace to the Japanese people.

When I walked there with my best friend in 2017 we were overwhelmed by the beautiful red buildings, the smell of the incense and the magical atmosphere in the middle of a buzzing metropolis like Tokyo. Adjacent to the temple is a stunning five-story pagoda.
