3 Karlskirche, Vienna

My first thought was: Wow, where is that? In One Thousand and One Nights?

No, this is Karlskirche ("St. Charles Church") in Vienna, Austria. It is widely considered one of the most outstanding baroque churches and I happen to agree wholeheartedly. It is absolutely beautiful in the daytime but even more stunning at night. Especially at Christmas when there is a traditional Christmas Market nearby. We visited both (the church and the market) on our railtrip through parts of Eastern Europe in December 2019. It was the place where I explained the difference between Glühwein and Kinderpunsch to my boyfriend. If you know, you know.
