1 The Matterhorn

To me the Matterhorn in Switzerland is one of the most iconic mountains in the world. It is 4478 m / 14691 ft high and the first ascent was already done in 1865. We visited this magnificent place on our roadtrip through Switzerland in May 2021. It was still ultra snowy, so a good time to go there is between July and September - unless you want to go for winter sports. I took this photo at sunrise after my boyfriend woke me up and yelled "Oh my gosh, you gotta see this!" I stumbled out of the house practically in my pajamas. But worth it, wasn't it?
